The Kreishandwerkerschaft discussed possible cooperation in vocational education with a delegation from South Africa.

The Kreishandwerkerschaft-Steinfurt Warendorf started to check the opportunities and possibilities of internationalization of education modules of dual vocational training in the crafts sector. The KH has intensive contacts to the local government of Sun City in the province of Moses Kotane in South Africa. After the king of the Bakgatla Ba Kgafela visited the KH a few months ago, now a delegation of the local government of Sun City Center was visiting the Kreishandwerkerschaft-Steinfurt Warendorf in Rheine.

The guests wanted to check the local opportunities to export certain blocks of dual vocational training in the craft. In conversation with CEO Frank Tischner, the members of the delegation got information about the basics of dual vocational training in Germany. The guests were impressed by the strength of the German craft.

Mr. Tischner explained that the quality of training in the craft results in the low level of youth unemployment rate in Germany which is among the 16 to 24 year olds just seven percent. During a tour through the training centers, the guests got an impression of what dual vocational training in the craft means in practice and what role the Kreishandwerkerschaft plays in the promotion of craft training. The contact to the province of Moses Kotane had been established by Dieter Plagemann from  WKB Systems GmbH in Hörstel and architect Ulrich Borowski from Hörstel-Dreierwalde. They are involved in the long-term development project "City of the Future" in the province, which suffers from a high unemployment of the population, a lack of infrastructure and weak economy.
