How does the dual training in Germany works in practise? Which screws need to be turned in training establishments, vocational schools and Kreishandwerkerschaft so that all components of the training optimally interlock? These and other questions were the focus of the recent visit by a delegation from South Africa at the Kreishandwerkerschaft (KH) Steinfurt-Warendorf. Representatives of a college and the Embassy of South Africa informed at the KH in Rheine and in companies in the district of Steinfurt, how the transfer of knowledge of vocational training on the other side of the world could succeed.

"The dual training is the guarantor of the quality of VET and therefore the backbone of the economy in Germany," said KH-CEO Frank Tischner. He welcomed the delegation at the education center of KH in Rheine and explained the main features of the dual vocational training in Germany. Here the craft enterprises come to an important role in their respective regions. In the training workshops of the KH, the guests from South Africa procured a picture of the inter-company vocational training, which the Kreishandwerkerschaft ensures during the dual training system.
